Smartys Day Nursery is a well-established family run business with over 25 years experience of providing high quality childcare for hundreds of families across Staffordshire.

Smarty Day Nursery began its journey over 25 years ago because we were and continue to be highly passionate to provide exciting, innovative care, in an rich learning environment that provides extensive opportunities for play, interaction and development, with the shared goal we want all children to have the best start in life.

We have successfully created nursery environments that are safe with learning opportunities that are endless. A unique feature is that we are the largest and only nursery in Stone to be able to provide your child with individually designed environments that are age and stage appropriate, in their own unique buildings.

Our well recruited staff are driven through tremendous passion and enthusiasm. This is continuously enhanced through our internal professional development programs, and this shines through in our practice and provision.

At Smartys Day Nursery we have used our experience to create and innovate, a childcare experience parents and children won’t find anywhere else or forget. When a new family joins the Smartys family, there is nothing more satisfying than hearing this has stemmed from a glowing recommendation from a fellow friend or family member.

A nurturing environment where quality and opportunities make an impact on a child’s education. Creating curious learners by providing real-life experiences encompasses what we are all about. We encourage the children to become independent thinkers, doers and believers in both themselves and in the magic surrounding them through purposeful, meaningful play.

Our Vision

Our nurturing environment aims to prepare our children for the next stage in their life. We deliver a tailored curriculum which is inspired by aspects of the curiosity approach, enabling children to become creative pioneers of their own learning and development, taking risking and challenging themselves through purposeful play and real-life experiences. A Smarty’s child will be kind, caring, and become independent learners embracing new opportunities at ease. The children will be happy, feel loved, safe and secure throughout their time with us.

In November 1997 Smartys opened a wrap around care facility based within Pirehill First School. From this date, please see below our history of development:

1999 - The opening of our Baby Bungalow

2001 - The opening of our Toddler Playhouse

2006 - The opening of our Eden Court Pre-School

2014 - The opening of our Flagship Little Stars setting

Can my child attend nursery for one day per week?

No unfortunately minimum 2 school days per week

Can my child attend nursery term time only?

Yes! We offer a variety of options such as; term time only, all year, or a combination of the two.

Do you offer funded only places?

Yes! We offer a variety of funded only placements, we understand each families circumstances are different. Please make contact for more information on options available.
